VICE PRESIDENT OF PRODUCTION
Job Summary
Working in conjunction with ADKS’ Executives, Vice Presidents, and Directors, the Vice President of Production will oversee all areas of the company’s US-based domestic production. Expectations of this role include furthering the mission, goals, and growth strategy of ADKS, driving collaboration and solution-mining across the company’s departments, leading and supporting company-wide initiatives with the production team, and managing department budgets, project job costs, and suppliers with a focus on efficiency and profitability. Essential to this position is a commitment to professional service, ethical business practice, quality assurance, and exceptional customer and staff support. This position reports directly to the President.
- Perform suitability and feasibility analyses of projects pre-sale.
- Review and evaluate the production activities for a given project at regular intervals. Authorize and prioritize all production activities.
- Strive for stability of production capacity.
- Advocate for, support, and guide all production personnel as needed.
- Deploy human and technical resources to meet project quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Balance traditional excellence in fabrication & finishing crafts and techniques with modern and innovative technologies.
- Develop analytical & data systems to examine post-production successes and improvement opportunities.
- Promote cross-disciplinary training programs to expand the skillset of, better retain and continually engage the production workforce.
- Implement reporting systems that track ongoing progress, monitor risk, and flag potential deviations from schedule, budget or quality milestones.
- Establish and monitor annual production revenue, staffing, and capital budgets.
- Represent ADKS Production to clients, vendors, subcontractors, designers, local and public officials, and all outside agencies.
- Represent ADKS as a Production thought leader at industry tradeshows and conferences.
- Foster a culture of collaborative creativity, anticipatory efficiency, and commitment to quality communications throughout the organization.
Additional Executive-Level Duties across the rest of ADKS’ US operations include:
Business Development/Global Marketing: Strategic participation, client interface, and oversight of process, scheduling, and capacity requirements; identification of production stories or content for future and ongoing marketing efforts.
Administration: Workforce stability, facility suitability and functionality, contract negotiations, capital improvements, company morale and culture, employee performance management and engagement initiatives, compliance with collective bargaining agreements, labor laws, and workplace policies.
Design: Process & Methodology approach, design feasibility and practicality, technical requirements, and schedule of deliverables for production purposes.
Project Delivery: Coordination of completion & handover of all production-related deliverables to project teams in support of client requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10+ years’ progressive leadership experience, including executive-level leadership in administration and production management
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience leading and sourcing cross-functional teams, including but not limited to a multi-level fabrication facility
- Ability to successfully collaborate with a broad spectrum of clients, team members, and external consultants
- Strong negotiating and influencing skills so as to garner ADKS the most favorable financial and contractual terms possible; experience working in a Union Labor environment a plus
- An empathetic leader with strong listening and communication skills and a reputation for diplomacy
- Solid business acumen with a proven track record of strategic thinking, analytical, problem solving and risk assessment skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and capable of balancing frequently shifting priorities
- Valid passport with flexibility and willingness to travel among ADKS’ US and global offices if/as necessary
